Window Shades

I have tried fabric sprays but they do not adhere to the shade.

It’s getting pretty warm in my room these days, I have blinds that can’t block the heat coming into my room. Is there a solution I could apply to keep the heat out? Anything that I could stick to my windows’ glass to keep the heat out? How are products like Solar Window Shades? I’d rather prefer a Do-It-Yourself solution.

I am getting new window coverings and am trying to find somewhere to compare the quality of different brands for honeycomb shades. Specifically I’m looking at A&I, Graber or Alta/Hunter Douglas. Any advice?

the old school vinyl shades for a cheap price. or similar to it( no cloth please)

I would like to use a long pole with a hook on the end to pull my shade down. The windows are two stories high.
I would like a ring attached to it so that the hook with grab it.

The windows in my house are wider than the standard blind or shade size. Even custom made blinds/shades are limited to a width less than the width of my windows. Is there a way to hang two sets of blinds or shades in one wide window?

I want something kind of inspirational…then some sort of picture to go along with it….

also…my window is kind of pushed back from the rest of the wall…so theres a little nook. idk how to explain it but in that small space i wanted to paint something on the wall. words. maybe something that would go along with what is on the shade.

No, not an RMV… They had a very large walk-in area in the back large enough to fit a queen size bed or a couple pieces of furniture. Very popular during it’s time but you never see them anymore.
Actually I wanted to know if there was a specific model. And VW- great answer, but that wasn’t the one I was talking about. Most of them were tan.

I’m looking to buy some window shades (not drapes, but opaque or semi-opaque shades). My windows are 35in tall and 70in wide. Does anyone know where I could look to find something without breaking the bank?

I like the look but at night, anyone can see in. I was thinking about putting some fabric on the between the window and the shade for more privacy. any suggestions?

We have casement windows from Pella that uses the shades with cords. The cords break after about 3 years. Therefore, I am wanting some cordless shades for casement windows. Does Pella make them? Where can I get them?

…Any other sources since Pella’s estimate was CRAZY high!?
We have a houseful of Pella wood-cased windows with shades between the 2 panes of glass. All have suffered from solar damage and must be replaced. Pella’s quotes are much higher than we’re able to afford so we’re looking for alternate manufacturers or alternatives.

the dumb suction cups do not work for crap! they are always falling down… grrr!

My backseat window shades are doing NOTHING to keep the sun out of my daughter’s eyes. Does anyone have a shade they can recommend? I’m so tired of buying them and having them constantly fall off. I need a set that won’t obstruct my vision, too. I haven’t lived in the city long and merging onto the interstate freaks me out enough without having a blind spot on my car! Advice appreciated.
